{"id":389,"date":"2009-03-10T00:01:18","date_gmt":"2009-03-09T23:01:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.christlutheranchurch.org.uk\/site\/?p=389"},"modified":"2009-02-18T12:30:46","modified_gmt":"2009-02-18T11:30:46","slug":"lent-devotions-tuesday-10th-march","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.christlutheranchurch.org.uk\/site\/2009\/03\/10\/lent-devotions-tuesday-10th-march\/","title":{"rendered":"Lent Devotions 2009: Tuesday 10th March"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>\u201cHallowed be Thy name\u201d<\/em> Lord&#8217;s Prayer, Second Petition<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The first petition of the Lord\u2019s Prayer says that God\u2019s name is holy and pure and we ask that it will always remain so in our hearts and minds.<\/p>\n<p>How can we keep it so? Whatever we do or say in his name must always be true to the Bible and His commandments. This sounds rather easy, but it is not that easy in practice.<\/p>\n<p>Keeping the Ten Commandments is impossible, but we must do our best overcome our human tendencies. Knowing what the Bible says and means, and communicating it accurately to others, is almost impossible, but we must try to learn His Word and share it accurately.<\/p>\n<p>God knows we are weak and &#8211; if we are honest &#8211; pretty useless at times, but God loves someone who tries to do their best and even more so He loves a believer.<\/p>\n<p>So if we believe in God and do our best to accurately share that belief with others, we are almost there. However, to share His Word accurately we must study the Bible to make sure we understand. If we need help, God has given us our Pastor and each other and of course, we can always go direct through prayer.<\/p>\n<p>God\u2019s name will always be \u201challowed\u201d if we share it with others and help them understand that salvation is there for us all, through His Son, Jesus Christ who paid the price for all of our sins.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Father God, we ask You to enable us to hallow Your Name, so we are part of the glorious spread of Your Gospel.
